anchored by Hope in the losses

There are many days I have spent struggling with loss.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A painful disappointment, loss of a dream, loss of a friendship, loss of a job, loss of a loved one.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The loss is not as significant to me anymore as much as my anchor is through those low moments and seasons.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Hope is my anchor.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I distinctly remember losing my childhood pet, and then suddenly losing my Nana a few months later as I was a young adult, before I had my Anchor. I knew who He was, but not intimately.

These two losses left an impact upon me that made room for God to reveal Himself to me in a significant and life altering way the following spring. He started the stirring through music, He watered it with love, He bought me with His blood, and revived me through the hope I now have in Him as His child.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When the waters of loss try to drag me under, my Anchor holds. He keeps me on a solid foundation, holds me tight through the storm, and speaks Hope to my weary, hurting heart in every situation. Especially the losses.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
God reminds us in Hebrews 6 that His Promises will come to pass, for when He speaks, they become part of our story. And this truth, which I hold on to with all I’ve got on the hardest of days, anchors me through…
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

“We have this Hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” Hebrews 6:19

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Feeling the heaviness of loss, friend? Cling to Hope. Let Him hold you fast and securely, as He loves and comforts you, right where you are at. It doesn’t matter whether your loss is visible to anyone else…for He sees your hurting heart and can’t help wanting to step in to assist and comfort you.

Lean in to Hope, and let Him help you to let go of the pain of your loss.
