TRUST is found in the knowing as we follow

“Lord I’m keeping my eyes on You, following You, following You.”

The T in FAITH can easily for truth, but TRUST kept coming to my mind and heart as I pondered this week.

One of the first songs I sang everywhere I went (with my tape player Walkman!) in the early 90’s when I chose to follow Jesus was a song by Twila Paris, which included the above lyrics captivated me as the perfect explanation of TRUST.

TRUST: Keeping our eyes fixed on God as we follow, even though we may not know where we are headed!

When I was looking for verses which capture TRUST, one perfectly explains in in the light of the TRUTH we find in Him:

Word: “Every word of God proves true; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.” Proverbs 30:5 ESV

Worship: Do I Trust You by Twila Paris – https://youtu.be/8x6W3K6y-6g

When we choose to believe God’s Word, even when we can’t see it right now…. and when we choose to follow Him and seek our security in Him, especially in the hard days, when we don’t know where we are headed? That is TRUST.

Our faith sustains us through the harder seasons when we TRUST the One in whom we place our faith!

TRUSTing in God is very different than trusting a person, friend.  God doesn’t let us down in the way a person will.  He won’t lie to you, lead you on or turn His back on those He loves, who place their trust in Him. If you have difficulty trusting, ask Him to reveal the root of that hurt, and show Himself as trustworthy to you!
