when anger deepens and morphs into RAGE

The last trigger for fear is one that most of us might not even consider. RAGE.

Rage is undealt with anger, anger which has been given free reign to grow as it prefers.

I have found rage towards others, myself and God are the three roots which make room for this unwelcome guest to meddle in my life.

I have already shared the following verse when chatting about anger a few days ago…

“Go ahead and be angry. You do well to be angry—but don’t use your anger as fuel for revenge. And don’t stay angry. Don’t go to bed angry. Don’t give the Devil that kind of foothold in your life.” Ephesians 4:26-27 MSG

God reminded me again that anger which I let linger comes with internal & external consequences.

Anger simmers, causing us to become fearful in how we relate with others, especially God.

You see, when I am angry with someone, but don’t want them to know, I become afraid that they might sense my anger if I am not careful. Because I have chosen to nurture the anger over restoring relationship, I invite anger to deepen. Until I become enraged at God over what I see as an injustice done towards me.

Now I am not saying you cannot be angry with God. But to nurture that anger without allowing God to address our concerns, hurts or fears? It becomes a block in how we relate to Him, one which He cannot remove without our willingness to let it go.

Rage parts ways with those who humble themselves before God, and allow Him to guide us in how to live our lives with positive fruit.

“Lead with your ears, follow up with your tongue, and let anger straggle along in the rear. God’s righteousness doesn’t grow from human anger. So throw all spoiled virtue and cancerous evil in the garbage. In simple humility, let our gardener, God, landscape you with the Word, making a salvation-garden of your life.” James 1:20-21 MSG

Friend, it’s time to let go of your rage, and replace it with relationship with Him again. Let rage & fear go, as you let Him in.
