F stands for FRIGHTENED

FEAR for me is made up of four aspects.

F stands for FRIGHTENED.

Fear loves to frighten us with its “what ifs.” Most of what we are afraid of never comes to pass, but that doesn’t stop our minds in a fearful moment from racing and thinking worst case scenarios.

God knew some of us would deal with fear on a daily basis, and that’s why I believe He included “do not fear” 365 times in His Word. So we can daily be reassured that He is with us, and that we need not be frightened of the unknown, unexpected and unfinished.

One of my favorite anti-fright verses is Isaiah 41:10, which is perfectly packaged to bring #hopeontheharddays when fear tried to rise to epic proportions –

“Don’t panic. I’m with you. There’s no need to fear for I’m your God. I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you. I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you.”

Stay tuned for tomorrow when I tackle the E in Fear.
