Kingdom come, aka homecoming

I love my country, which just celebrated its 150th birthday. Parts of it are older, but once it decided to become one body, it essentially became born again into its newness as Canada.

Tomorrow, my neighbors to the south celebrate their nation on the 4th of July. The day they historically became the country they are recognized as today.

I am proud of my country and the good it contains, as are likely all of you proud of the countries you call home.

It has taken quite a while for me to grasp, but this country is not my true home.

For when I accepted Jesus’s death on the cross as payment for all the wrong I had done, I became a permanent resident in His Kingdom.

My true Home is the Kingdom of Heaven!

When drama plays out in my community, province or country, it can become easy to get sucked into the negative news of the reality we are surrounded by…

Yet it is NOT my true residence! Nor yours if you follow Christ, friend.

For we have become His, His heirs and family, and are welcome into His Kingdom forevermore!

Over the next two weeks, I am going to guide you on a brief tour (kinda like GPS) of what the Word says about the Kingdom, share a few worship songs which put to voice Kingdom matters, and write what stirs in my heart based upon each day’s verses as Holy Spirit highlights what I need to see.

And maybe, hopefully, He will do the same for you too!

One of my fave verses about God’s Kingdom is in Matthew, Chapter 3, Verses 11-12, MSG:

The main character in this drama, Jesus, will ignite the #kingdom life within you, a fire within you, the Holy Spirit within you, changing you from the inside out!

The kingdom of God isn’t solely a location, but lives within us as well!

So everywhere we go as we follow His lead, His Kingdom moves with us!

And because He goes with us where we go, we can invite Him to move in to every location & bring His Kingdom come right then and there!

Stay tuned as He ignites His Word to come alive again for us as we dig deeper into Kingdom come, or as I like to call it,

Homecoming.

When His Kingdom comes in power here on earth!

#Kingdomcome #homecoming

PS. Please check out Chris McClarney’s worship song, “On Earth as it is in Heaven” to set the atmosphere to invite His Kingdom to come.
