From the beginning of the limits You determined with time, You have been on the move.
Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. Genesis 1:2 NIV
You are constantly on the go, to and fro, for You are an intrinsic part of creation, as You cover the world with Your Presence and bring the fresh breath of God-giving life,
The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life. Job 33:4 NIV
When you send Your Spirit, they are created, and You renew the face of the ground. Psalm 104:30 NIV
You not only give us life, but You fill us, and empower us, changing us, when You come upon us!
The Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them; and you will be changed into a different person. 1 Samuel 10:6 NIV
The Spirit of the Lord spoke through me; His word was on my tongue. 2 Samuel 23:2
You gave your good Spirit to instruct them. You did not withhold your manna from their mouths, and you gave them water for their thirst. Nehemiah 9:20 NIV
Exodus 31:3, 35:31; Judges 3:10, 6:34, 11:29, 13:25, 14:6 & 19, 15:14.
You give us wisdom, and insight we could not have apart from You.
He gave him the plans of all that the Spirit had put in his mind for the courts of the temple of the Lord and all the surrounding rooms, for the treasuries of the temple of God and for the treasuries for the dedicated things. 1 Chronicles 28:12 NIV
2 Chronicles 15:1, 20:14, 24:20
And this is just the tip of the wealth of references to Holy Spirit found in just the Old Testament, God!
Pentecost Sunday yesterday reminded me that You have been present since before the limits of linear time, and always will be!
More than anything else this stirs up within me, God? My heart cry echoes that of fellow pursuer of You – Shepherd, King & Psalmist David…
Don’t withdraw Your Presence, Your Spirit from me. (Psalm 51:12)
and You reassure me that You never will!
Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, You are there; if I make my bed in the depths, You are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast. Psalm 139:7-10 NIV
