You have no power over. You only have power to. And power with God. #TheMercifulScar
When the inevitable happens and in once again I feel that I have no power to fight or battle what I am facing, God likes to remind me of David vs Goliath.
David’s strength, His bravery in the face of one of the largest men recorded in history came from His faith in God.
Spending time in the fields with the sheep was the training ground God used to prepare David’s faith so it would deepen, grow and trust enough for the battles ahead.
Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit. Zechariah 4:6 ESV
Here’s what grabbed my heart today: God is the same God now He was then.
The same God who parted the Red Sea.
The same God who set all the prisoners free, not just His two disciples in jail.
The same God who shaped the marvels of creation we all see around us.
The same God who makes His home within His people.
David was able to trust the real powerful God because his faith was empowered through his relationship with Him.
Just as we can.
Our power comes when we bring it to God to do.
The Presence of God in us produces the Power of God through us.
So if you are facing what appears to be a daunting obstacle, keep inviting God to be the might to overcome on your behalf. Keep your eyes fixed on His abilities not your lack. Listen to His Spirit’s voice, not the enemy’s deceit.
Let God show up and blow you away as you persevere against your giant today.
You may not need to kill your opponent like David. You might need a storm to cease, a phone to ring, to meet a deadline at the last minute, or maintain your hope in a painful moment.
God knows what you need, and when you persevere and continue to press in to His Presence with expectation, listening for His guidance and looking for Him to move…He will!
