I wish they had band aids for our insides.
There are days when I wish I had a bandaid for my insides.
Sometimes when we do what’s necessary and open up our emotions to be healed, things feel free but a little funny left within afterwards.
You see, its like having surgery to remove a bone chip or growth. The body takes some time to settle into a new normal without the irritation it was used to.
Try as we might, we are not able to fill that new free space on our own, or cover it up with a bandaid as when we have a cut to our outsides.
But God can.
When we hand over our past wounds and memories, God not only heals them, but He fills the spaces left within with Himself, His Presence in the person of Holy Spirit.
And we are transformed, closer to being made completely whole.
When we make space for God, He moves in.
The only downside is making space, and not inviting Him in.
For the enemy loves to invade when we do not have our defenses up.
And our defense is God Himself. He promises throughout the Word that He is our strong tower, our defender, our Rock, our safety.
Unlike band aids, God is forever.
I don’t know about you, but I would rather trust someone permanent versus something temporary.
So no more quick fix slap it on and cover ups of what’s going on on the insides anymore.
Ripping off the band aids and asking for complete healing and restoration in their place.
Pressing in for more of His Presence.
